Perhaps you feel it’s time to challenge yourself, address growth areas, and unburden yourself through meaningful conversation. Maybe you’d like to be more present in your life, establish new habits and routines, respond in moments rather than react, or effectively communicate your needs to the people in your life. I offer a safe, non-judgmental space for you to explore goals, process stressors, engage effective coping skills, and rediscover your strengths.

I'm a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW) with nearly a decade of experience working with behavioral health and substance use issues. I collaborate with clients using a combination of cognitive/behavioral therapies and insight-oriented psychodynamic psychotherapy. I tend to work well with those experiencing anger and a sense of feeling stuck.

Richard Stephens

MS/EdS, LPC

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor specializing in individual therapy with adults and adolescents. I have experience helping individuals from varied cultural and socio-economic backgrounds struggling with anxiety, depression, self-esteem, trauma, substance abuse, and social skills difficulties. I use a client-centered approach with a variety of modalities, including CBT, motivational interviewing, and psychodynamic therapy, to provide insight into how environmental, mental/emotional, and health-related factors can influence an individual’s thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. I work to provide a safe environment where clients can let go of their stressors and focus on their experiences, struggles, and needs.

It can be difficult to reach out for help. As such, I seek to create a confidential, inviting, and nonjudgmental setting for you to feel comfortable in as we work collaboratively to develop greater insight, understanding, and coping skills; focus on your experiences, struggles, and needs; and let go of your stressors.

I hold a BA in Psychology from Auburn University (2011) and a MS/EdS in Mental Health Counseling from Florida State University (2014).
